This Notice applies to the Alt Data Subscription(s) provided by Revealera, LLC (“Revealera”). Revealera, LLC is a New York based LLC with address 395 S End Ave,New York, NY 10280(“we” or “us”). We take privacy seriously and this Notice is designed to help you understand what personal data we collect, how we may use and manage it and the rights you may have in relation to such personal data. When we refer to “personal data” in this Notice, we mean information relating to an identified or identifiable individual that we collect and use in connection with Revealera; not aggregate or other anonymised data or information we process on behalf of our customers.
How do we collect and use personal data?
We collect personal data in the following ways:
Information you provide to us directly online. For example, when you register to use a Revealera Data Subscription, complete one of our web forms or make a support request, we collect the personal data you provide, like your name, email address and other basic contact details / professional information. We will use this information to enable you to access and use Revealera or fulfil the request you’ve made. More occasional examples could include where you respond to a survey.
Information we collect from your use of Revealera. When you use Revealera, we may collect information about that usage and other technical information, such as your IP address. For example, client IP Addresses may be monitored for DOS attacks or other cybersecurity purposes and the API key for ensuring the proper access level.
Information we collect from our other interactions / business dealings. For example, if you attend a webinar, contact us via social media or otherwise interact with our business, including as a representative of a current / prospective customer, supplier or partner, we may track and make a record of those interactions, which may contain personal data.
In all the above cases, where we have a relationship with you, we may also use the personal data we collect to manage and keep a record of that relationship and other business administration purposes you’d reasonably expect and, subject always to your preferences, to provide information we think may be of interest to you.
If you provide personal data to us about someone else (such as one of your colleagues), please ensure that you have their permission to do so and that they’re aware of the contents of this Notice.
Under no circumstances do we share your usage of our API or our Data or the fact that you are our customer or the details of the interactions of our relationship with other customers or third parties that are not employees or contractors of Revealera. Employees and contractors for Revealera may only have access to this data in accordance with the next section “The legal basis for our use of your personal data”)
The legal basis for our use of your personal data
All processing and use of your personal data is justified by a "lawful ground" for processing. In the majority of cases, processing will be justified on the lawful ground that:
the processing is necessary to perform a contract with you or take steps to enter into a contract at your request, such as to negotiate a contract with us, to fill an order, or to provide product information that you have requested;
the processing is necessary for us to comply with a relevant legal obligation, such as keeping accounting records;
the processing is in our legitimate interests, which are not overridden by the interests and rights of the relevant individual whose personal data is collected; and
you have consented to the processing.
We do not generally disclose or share personal data with third parties, except where it’s necessary for legitimate business reasons, such as:
to the agents, advisers and service providers that assist us in running / we use to administer our business;
to the subcontractors and service providers we use to provide and support Revealera. This may include hosting providers such as OVH, AWS etc;
if part of our business is sold to or integrated with another business, to our advisers and any prospective purchasers (and their advisers);
in such circumstances for which you have given your consent;
if necessary for the performance of the contract we have with you or in order to enforce any claims we are entitled to;
if required by law or ordered by a court;
Security and storage
We take appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect personal data from accidental or unlawful destruction, accidental loss and unauthorised access, destruction, misuse, modification or disclosure. We only keep your personal data for as long as it is necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, after which it will be destroyed, erased or anonymised.
Marketing
Depending on your preferences, we may contact you about things we think might be of interest to you. Some of these messages may be tailored to you, based on your interests and any other information we may hold. If you no longer wish to receive such communications, you can email us at info@revealera.com and let us know. Note, even if you unsubscribe from marketing messages, we may still send you emails about the services you use, such as details of new functionality / changes to legal terms of use.
Your Rights
We will take steps in accordance with applicable legislation to keep personal data accurate, complete and up to date. You are entitled to have any inadequate, incomplete or incorrect personal data corrected (that is, rectified). You also have the right to request access to your personal data as well as to obtain additional personal data about the processing. In the event the lawful ground (see Lawful Grounds for Processing above) for processing your personal data is your consent, you have the right to withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal. Further, you are entitled to object to the processing of your personal data or to have your personal data erased, under certain circumstances.
As from 25 May 2018, the following rights also apply solely to processing of personal data which is subject to the GDPR. Each right may only apply in certain circumstances, and subject to exemptions under either EU or Member State law:
